today i was giving injections to a nice lady, and then as i was discarding one of the needles i pricked my finger. got sent straight to the emergency room to have my blood drawn. they took samples to run tests on for a baseline… then they’ll get some more in a few weeks to test for any bloodbourne pathogens (like hep a, b and hiv). took my blood pressure, it was like 146/80. yeah. i guess i was a little stressed out.
all in all, i think i’m okay. i’m pretty sure i’m not getting the hiv from today’s needle prick, but it made me think a lot. i say yolo, because i mean it too, not because today made me realize to see life in a new light.
my finger still hurts. but who cares.
